An old piece

After being inspired by Zia's poem (thanks Zia!), I decided to look up some of my old poetry. I can't find them all yet but this was one of the first I ever wrote.

Dreams of Skool

Eyes wide, mouth open,
People staring, no scream coming.
Look down, no clothes forming.
Panic rising, no hope containing
This feeling. Eyes watering,
Mind racing, heart pounding,
Hands shaking, kness wobbling,
Bell ringing, bell ringing,
Bell ringing, bell ringing,
Mind waking, look around,
Bedroom comfort, sweat tracing.

More of my work when I find it! (Of course if you don't like it, tell me & I'll stop it real quick!!)

Rare Friendship

Hey hey! How is everyone?

I'm in a great humour (again!). I was talking to a friend of mine who I hadn't heard from for absolutely ages last night and it was great fun just to catch up. Now I know that last line makes me sound like a girl, but it just was. He went to Portugal when he left school and I hadn't heard from him for the last three years. Then yesterday evening my mobile started buzzing and there he was on the other end of the line! He was back in Ireland for a few days and he wanted to meet up. Unfortunately I'm living in Waterford now (I used to live in Wexford. Find an atlas!) so we just stayed chatting on the phone for ages!

Afterwards it got me thinking about friendship and what it means. My friendship with him, while I wouldn't call it particularly close or anything, was always a fun one. And it lasted despite such a long gap. I know a lot of people now who I would consider friends, but I don't know if many of them would take time out to find me after three years.

Now reading back over this post I realise that some people may... erm... question my sexuality so to speak ;), but to be honest it doesn't bother me! I was delighted to hear from my friend again and I thought I'd share some of my happiness with the world!

Anyways, keep smiling!
Stevie ;)

Oh BTW if anyone is wondering, I AM straight and have a girlfriend of eight months! :-p

Toothless & Loving it!!

Good morning all! (or good afternoon, good evening or good night!)

That weekend was... well... odd to say the least. Went to the dentist on Saturday morning. The dentist (a very nice lady) gave me two choices on the tooth that was bothering me...

1)Root Canal: 3 visits & €300
2)Extraction: 1 visit & €65

Since the tooth isn't visible when I smile (& the fact that I'm a poor, poor student!) I went for the extraction. I was actually surprised how painless it was. After she had injected the anesthetic (admittedly fairly uncomfortable) I didn't feel another thing while she was pulling and dragging on my tooth.

And I got to keep the tooth which is very cool!!! ;)

Anyways, it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting and I was quite happy with the service I got. I'll definately be going back there again if I need to.

Other than that nothing else happened this weekend. Watched the Euro2004 quarter finals and caught up on some much needed sleep! Ah the joys of a weekend off!

For some reason I'm in a really good humour recently! Even my girlfriend noticed and I gotta admit it's a great feeling to know that life is going well. (or maybe it has something to do with the number of painkillers I'm taking for my tooth!) Whatever the reason, I hope the rest of you are in as good a humour as me! :-D

Anyways I have no other news, so until next time...

Stevie ;)

Friday.... WOO-HOO!

It's Friday, oh happy day!

Off work for the weekend, get to go home and see my family and I got paid today!! The only downer on an otherwise perfect weekend is...

I gotta go to the dentist tomorrow morning... *GULP*

I hate the dentist, always have, always will, and tomorrow morning I'm gonna willingly walk into his surgery and say "Hey doc, do your worst!" Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! If any of you are reading this around 10am(GMT - whatever that is in your part of the world!) on Saturday 26th June, please think of me sitting in the devil's chair, head back and mouth open... poor ol' me!! ;)

Now with the distinct possibility that I may not be in any kinda humour to post over the weekend, the next time all you lucky people may hear from me will be Monday. If that is the case, have a good weekend and I'll see you next week (probably with a filling or two!)

It's been fun!

My Warhammer 40K army

The following report has come from Cadia...

**BEGIN TRANSMISSION**

TO: Inquisitor Larkla (Ordo Malleus)
FROM: Inquisitor Thundrus
SUBJECT: The Dark Avengers
RECEIVED: 999.M41
CROSS-REFERENCE: Recent history of Imperial Forces on Cadia
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Ignorance breeds obediance.

The Dark Avengers 3rd Company, lead by Chaplain Horenduz, has arrived in the Cadia sector as part of their Crusade of Absolution.

The Dark Avengers are a second founding chapter, originally part of the Ultramarines Legion. The chapter still has very close ties with the Ultramarines as the Dark Avengers' home planet of Darkav IV is very near to Ultramar (cosmically speaking, of course.)

The 3rd Company undertook their Crusade of Absolution following the Armageddon War. The Dark Avengers were attacked and almost destroyed by a force of Ork Speed Freeks very soon after making planet fall on Armageddon and had to make a very hasty withdrawal. Chaplain Horenduz ordered that the company undertake a 100-year crusade to absolve them of this stain on their honour.

The Dark Avengers stand ready to help anywhere they can, and are eager to redeem themselves in the eyes of the Holy Emperor of Mankind.

**END TRANSMISSION**

Half way through my summer holidays...

**RANT STARTS**
Half way through my summer holidays and already I gotta start thinking about and working on college stuff. The upcoming year is the final year of my degree course and part of the course is a huge final project. The team and I gotta design, develop and finally create a working prototype of a viable software package. Thing is, with the year only being nine months long and of course we got the regular college year going on as well, most people have started to work on the project already. Which also means we gotta start on it now too or we fall behind...

I want my summer holidays, I hate doing this kinda stuff when my sister is off enjoying herself...

Oh well, I don't suppose complaining about it is gonna do much good! Grit my teeth and bear it again I guess. Stoopid f**cking college!

Thank you for listening, you're excused!!
**END RANT**

P.S. I actually love college, I'm just in a bad mood! ;)

Work, work, work, erm.... work?

Here I am, sitting in work, again finding myself staring into space contemplating the vast mysteries of life. I just realised that I've done nothing even remotely constructive in the last three hours
.
.
And the really scary thing is that no one has noticed! That's right, not one of my bosses or collegues has noticed that I'm basically doing f**k all!!

Ah happy days, I wonder how long it will last? (probably until one of them reads this!)

Is it that bad?!

I was showing one of my friends this blog site and how to set up a blogger account. I was, naturally enough, using my site as a demo. As soon as she saw my picture though, she immediately said, "Jesus Stephen, take down the photo!"

Now am I really THAT ugly, is it just a bad photo or is my friend just jealous?!

People can be sooo cruel... sniff! ;)
